Getting Ready for AI Prototyping Camp

We’re excited to have you join AI Prototyping Camp - a fast-paced course exploring AI prototyping tools to ideate, prototype, and iterate on your designs. This guide covers everything you need to get set up before the first session.

Items covered in this article:

Course Start Date & Time

  • Start: Monday, July 13, 2026, at 5:00pm ET

  • Location: Designlab platform (log-in instructions will be emailed the day prior to launch)

Figma Education Plan Verification

If you don’t have a paid Figma account, you’ll need to apply for a Figma Education plan in order to access paid features (such as Figma Make). Follow these steps to set it up:

  1. Create a free Figma account (if you don’t already have one).

  2. Log in to your Designlab account.

  3. Complete this form to upgrade your free Figma account to an Education plan.

Once you’ve submitted the form, Figma will send you an email confirming that your account has been upgraded. This process can take up to 10 business days, so we recommend completing it as early as possible to ensure you have access before your first course session.

Required Software Setup

  1. Create a Lovable Account

You'll need access to Lovable Pro to complete the coursework.

What to do:

  1. Go to Lovable
  2. Create an account (if you don't already have one).
  3. Upgrade to the Pro Plan ($25/month).

  1. Set Up Figma with Figma Make Access

You'll need access to Figma Make.

Option A: Existing Paid Figma Account

If you already have a paid Figma account:

  1. Log in to Figma

Confirm you have a Full Seat on one of these plans:

  • Professional
  • Organization
  • Enterprise

Option B: Free Education Plan (Recommended)

Designlab provides access to a free Figma Education Plan for participants.

What to do:

Register for AI Prototyping Camp by July 3rd.

Apply for the Figma Education Plan.

Wait for Figma's verification process to be completed.

Confirm that Figma Make is available in your account.

⚠️ Verification can take time, so don't leave this until the last minute.

  1. Create an AI Assistant Account

Choose either ChatGPT or Claude - both work equally well for the course.

Option A: ChatGPT

  1. Visit ChatGPT
  2. Create a free account.

Option B: Claude

  1. Visit Claude
  2. Create a free account.

💡 The free versions are sufficient for this course.

  1. Prepare your Browser

Use Google Chrome (recommended for best compatibility)

  • Install or open to the latest version
  • Update Chrome to the latest version
  • Disable any ad blockers for Figma and Lovable domains (they can interfere)

  1. Create Helpful Bookmarks

Save these links for quick access during sessions:

 Figma
 Lovable
 ChatGPT or Claude

  1. Test Your Setup

1) Test Figma Make

1. Create a new design file
2. Look for Figma Make in the toolbar
3. Try generating a simple component (e.g., “Create a button”)
4. If it works, you’re good!

Can’t find Figma Make? You may not have access yet. Check that your Education Plan
verification is complete, or verify your account has a paid seat.

2) Test Lovable

2. Start a new project
3. Try a simple prompt like: “Create a simple welcome screen”
4. If something generates, you’re set!

2. Ask: “Give me 3 ideas for a mobile app onboarding flow”
3. If you get a response, you’re ready!

When you complete any of our courses, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion that highlights your newfound skills and project work. This certificate serves as a tangible acknowledgment of your learning journey — and it’s something you can proudly feature on your résumé or share on LinkedIn to demonstrate your professional growth.

Each certificate comes with a unique ID and a dedicated verification page hosted on our site. This allows anyone — from hiring managers to collaborators — to confirm your accomplishment quickly and securely.

Add Your Certificate to LinkedIn with Ease

We’ve made it simple to share your achievement. When you’re viewing your certificate page, you’ll see an “Add certification to LinkedIn” button in the upper right side of the page. Clicking this button will take you directly to your LinkedIn profile (if you’re already logged in) and automatically open the modal to add a new certificate.

From there, you can fill in your course details and link your unique certificate verification page — giving your network and potential employers an easy way to view and verify your credentials.
