How can I make my submissions private?

If you want to make your submissions private, you can go to the settings tab of your profile, and scroll down to the box marked “set profile to private”. This will allow only people logged into a Designlab account to view your profile and work:

We do not currently support an option to hide your submissions from other students. This is due to the collaborative nature of design – we've found that students tend to have the most success when learning with and from others, and we use the platform to help facilitate that.

I think someone is plagiarizing my work in the course. How do I report it?

We take academic and professional standards seriously at Designlab. If you believe that another student has plagiarized your work, please contact us immediately.

What are Designlab's data sharing policies with third-party tools like Zoom?

Designlab uses Zoom as a video-conferencing tool for community events, like Group Crits and Peer Group Sessions. All sessions are recorded by default for quality control and to share archived recordings with students who couldn't attend.

Zoom has made it clear that all accounts by default are opted-out of data-sharing with Zoom. Any  account needs to opt in to such practices — Designlab has not opted in, and we will not be doing so.

From a Zoom blog post:

Following feedback received regarding Zoom’s recently updated terms of service Zoom has updated our terms of service and the below blog post to make it clear that Zoom does not use any of your audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments, or other communications like customer content (such as poll results, whiteboard, and reactions) to train Zoom’s or third-party artificial intelligence models.
